Weeks 1 and 2 have flown by and here we are in the third full week if training camp. Already we’ve seen God work in many little ways (thank you to the anonymous donator that paid for the almost $400 worth of snacks for our squad!) and learned so much in our sessions. Life has begun to settle into a groove, or at least, as much of a groove you can achieve with Adventures In Missions. We’ve grown so much as a squad family, in all our little interactions, at meals and during board games, and in the big things, like squad church on Sunday.

A week from Saturday, our little groove will be broken as we roadtrip to DeQuincy, LA to partner with Samaritan’s Purse in helping with hurricane disaster relief. It will be mostly manual labor, which will be an interesting way for little ol’ out-of-shape me to learn the meaning of “the joy of the Lord is my strength.“ This is our first ministry opportunity, and we’re all excited, but a part of me isn’t prepared; a part of me wonders if I’ll ever feel prepared for God’s work, seeing as how God has worked in getting me here, which involved so little mental or emotional preparation as to make it laughable. But if there’s one thing that’s been apparent in my time here, how God works is never predictable.

I continue to fundraise; my next deadline is $10,000 by October 15th. I am a little over $2,000 away from this deadline. Please pray if God is leading you to support me, both in prayer and in finances.

Blessings, Claire
