Today’s new psalm is a poem I wrote a couple weeks ago; I don’t remember most of the context around why I wrote it, but I remember being inspired by Isaiah Song by Maverick City Music. The book of Isaiah, especially around chapter 61, has come to mean a lot to me, especially with my team’s name (Jubilee) deriving from there. So, without further ado,

Gardens

Abba, bring spring to my soul!

Bud these branches, bloom these buds,

Bring beauty to this wanton wasteland.

Plant a garden in my soul,

Water it with Your Word,

Grow these seeds so long silent.

Turn the greying browns

To golden greens,

These ugly puddles

And struggling streams

Into waters of rest

And rivers of refreshment.

Turn the harsh and lonely wind

From east to southern

Ease and recline,

Breezes of invitation,

Slow and sweet.

Bring spring to my soul,

That I may go

And plant a new garden

In some deserted soul.

Thanks for reading!! Love y’all bunches,

Claire
