  Today’s new psalm was written today (march 20) as I sat in a coffee shop in Antigua. I was inspired by something my teammate Mar said yesterday, that the Lord had a lot of little altars for her this week. Altars are a tricky business; are you willing to give up your comfort for more of the Father? Do you love yourself more or God? And yet at the same time, He’s on the altar with us, He’s in the fire and is the fire; He didn’t leave us to figure it out on our own. What a beautiful thought! So without further ado,

Little Altars

I lay this down, I walk away;

But wait, why did I pick it up again?

Take it again, take it for always,

Don’t let me take what is no longer mine.

Another altar, Lord? Again?

How many more things must I give up?

It’s not even that big of a deal!

I don’t love giving it up,

But I love You, and I want You more.

What is it today, Lord?

What do I get to give You

For more of You?

There’s more of You to know,

To experience, and I want it all;

Lead me deeper, till all that’s left is

You.

   Thanks for reading! Love y’all a lot,

  Claire
